Weekly Update March 10, 2014

Good Morning Honors Niners!

I hope you all had a great, relaxing Spring Break. Please read the information below about upcoming events in UHP.

General Body Meeting

Our next General Body Meeting is this Wednesday, March 12 from 5-6 p.m. in Cone Center 210. 

It would be a huge help if members could help us by donating candy for Relay. Please bring a bag of Fun-sized Candy Bars (Snickers, 3 musketeers, Twix, Milky Way) with you to the meeting. We will be deep-frying and selling these yummy treats during the night of Relay For Life.

Honors Gala

• Gala ticket sales will end THIS FRIDAY, March 14. They are $25 and can be purchased from the Honors Grad Assistant anytime during normal business hours. The Honors Gala invitation is attached.
• The Honors Gala is on March 22 starting at 8:00pm! This is a semiformal masquerade theme and will cost $25 a person. There will be a Shutterfly Booth, Black Jack tables, a DJ, desserts and much more. It will be at the Speedway club and is well worth the price!

Community Service 

• Relay For Life: Friday, April 4 starting at 6:00pm at the Belk Track
• Committee meeting on Tuesday, March 25th at 6:00 in the Student Union 269. ANYONE in the Honors college can attend the meeting so please spread the word.
• We will be volunteering at the Time Warner Cable Arena with the Bobcats on Wednesday, March 26^th and Monday, March 31^st from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. We need 10-15 volunteers to participate and we could raise up to $500 for our team. Remember that any money raised will be split amongst volunteers’ goals. • Fashion Show: Thursday, March 20 starting at 7:00pm on 3rd floor Student Union

• Crisis Assistance Ministry:  All 25 spots for this Saturday (March 15) are taken. If anyone is signed-up for this Saturday and will no longer be able to make it, please email me (ajenki47@uncc.edu) to let me know ASAP. Extra Tid Bits

·         Thank you to everyone that volunteered, performed and attended the Talent Show put on by the Teaching Fellows. We raised $170 to go towards our goal!

• The list of classes for Fall 2014 is now available on Banner. Check out the course offerings, and get a head start on planning your schedule before priority registration. 
• If you ordered a UHP t-shirt and haven't received it yet, they are available for pick-up in the Honors Office.
