Weekly Update November 19, 2012


Hello All,
Please take some time to read this post because we have a few updates we would like you to make note of.
1) Don’t forget to RSVP for the Winter Solstice by November 19.
2) I would like to thank everyone who participated with Operation Christmas Child! We collected 65 boxes which exceeded our goal!! So…THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
3) I would like to also thank everyone who volunteered at the Color Run this past weekend! I think we all had a blast :) and hopefully we can go back next year!
4) CONGRATS to UHP Honor Graduates who presented last week! They did a great job!!
I hope that each of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving break and safe travels!

Weekly Update November 12, 2012


Hello UHP’ers!
 
We have a lot of important dates coming up, so read closely. 
 
3rd (and FINAL) UHP Meeting:
Wed Nov. 14
5:00-6:30pm

BRING:
1. Due: $6.00 for UHP t-shirts (if ordered and not yet paid) *
2. Operation Christmas Child Boxes (see below for details)
3. A couple dollars to participate in the Relay for Life Raffle (there is a monetary prize!)**
 
*Want to show some UHP pride?! Sign up (through the Google doc below) to buy a UHP T-Shirt for $6.00. Money will be due at our next general meeting, November 14th and shirts will be given out on November 30th. 2. Operation Christmas Child Boxes
Bring your FILLED boxes to either the Honors office by Thurs. 11/15 or to the next UHP meeting to count it as a community service event. If you only have items to fill the box, there will be some wrapped boxes available at the UHP meeting.  Our goal is to get 60 boxes done! There are plenty of things that can be put in the boxes. Some examples are hard candy, bar of soap, McDonald’s toys, coloring books, and a Christmas card.  The Dollar Tree is great to get different items.  Remember NO MONEY or any thing related to war in the boxes! 
 
Winter Solstice is December 5th in the Lucas Room in the Cone Center.  It will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Also, this year we will get to play Dirty Santa (A.K.A. Minor Niner Gift Exchange)!
