We’ve got a lot of updates, so make sure you take a look at the information below.

Community Service Update:

We are keeping track of who is participating in community service activities. We hope that you all will want to volunteer to help others and this will also keep you in good standing with UHP.

Candy Sales were amazing last week. We raised over $250 towards Relay For Life! Don’t forget about Operation Christmas Child. This is a project that you can do on your own. Collect items to fill a shoe box for a specific age and gender. If you can’t find a shoe box or wrapping paper, feel free to bring items to the UHP office at any time. We need volunteers to help wrap these boxes at our Wrapping Party this Friday, November 2^nd from 3:00-5:00 PM in Cone 111.

CPCC Tutoring began last week, and they are very greatful for the tutors, keep up the good work!

Purses with Power needs volunteers! This benefits the Arthritis Foundation. An auction and fashion show will be held on Thursday November 8th at Felix Sabates Mercedes of South Charlotte which is on South Blvd near 485. Dinner will be provided to volunteers.
For the attendees, the event starts at 7 pm and should conclude around 9:30 pm. We will need volunteers to help with auction set up, raffle ticket sales, auction monitoring, check out and shut down. We would like the volunteers to arrive around 5pm. If you are interested in helping out, e-mail UHPer Roxy Peterson at apeter43@uncc.edu.

Paying attention to these e-mails?! The first person to send me (ctetswor@uncc.edu) UNC-Charlotte’s official school colors will get a cool prize!

Other Updates:

Our next General Meeting will be on Wednesday, November 14^th from 5:00 to 6:30 PM Location TBA

UNCC Street Hockey and Model UN (MUN) are hosting a fundraiser. Attend the Charlotte Checkers game on Thursday November 8th at 7:00 pm and tickets are only $15. Part of the proceeds will go to these organizations. If you would like to buy tickets, contact UHPer Matt Rosskamp at mrosskam@uncc.edu

Relay for Life

·         The CANDY SALE will take place on October 22^nd-October 26^th from 10:00am-3:00pm. Make sure you email Andrew Olsen or Austin Jenkins with any further questions regarding the candy sale. Enrichment Event:

·         Our upcoming enrichment event is this Monday, October 15^th, from 3:30pm-5:00pm in Cone 210. Natalie Cisneros will present "Alien Sexuality:  Race, Maternity, and Citizenship" as part of the Feminism and Critical Race Series.  Natalie Cisneros is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Allegheny College. Her research interests include Feminist Philosophies, Critical Philosophies of Race, Contemporary Continental Philosophy, and Latin American Philosophy.

Punt, Kick, Pass:

·         Come out to the Rec Fields this Tuesday from 6:00pm-8:00pm! There will be some fun activities and free goodies! Supposedly, this event will make-up for the cancellation of Rec Fest!
