Weekly Update February 25, 2013


Greetings UHPer's!  

I hope everyone is having a great week so far! One more until a break! We have a few updates and reminders for you.

Our next general body meeting is on Wednesday, March 13th from 5-6:30pm in the SAC 334A.  Please bring bagged candy to this meeting, there will be another candy sale for Relay on March 20th.  

Fall Registration 
  • Reminder: the Fall 2013 schedule becomes live on Monday, March 4th during Spring Break.  
  • Registration is on Monday, March 25th at 9am.  
  • Make sure you schedule an advising appointment with your advisor to make sure you don't have any holds on your account. 
  • If you have any questions pertaining to Honors, please schedule an advising appointment with an Honors advisor on Banner.
  • If you have any questions, please email Connie Rothwell. 

Relay For Life 
  • Thanks to those who came out to the Boston Market fundraiser!  I hope you enjoyed the good food! 
  • We are in 4th place for our school and more than halfway towards our goal! Thank you to those who have already registered!
  • And to those who haven't registered yet, please register. It is only $10 and goes to a wonderful cause!  If you register and volunteer for a community service event relating to Relay, it will count as a community service (this includes: Couture for a Cure, candy sale, doughnut sale.)   • Relay For Life is on Friday, April 5, 6pm until Saturday, April 6, 6am.  Look forward to sign ups to volunteer at our tent and walk around the track for team.  
  • Also, we will be selling Krispy Kreme Doughnuts from March 11th-14th on campus for $1 each, $5/dozen.  We will also be selling them at our next general body meeting on Wednesday, March 13th. Couture for a Cure 
Black & White Affair: City Lights Edition 
  • Thanks to those who made it to the social events committee meeting this past Friday.  
  • This year the Black & White Affair is on Saturday, April 6th from 7:30pm-11:30pm at the Harris Alumni Center on campus! 
  • Proceeds from the Black & White Affair will go to Relay For Life!
  • If you are interested in volunteering to plan for this event, please contact our treasurer, David Jordan at djorda33@uncc.edu.  We need as much help for this event as well!  
Volunteer Opportunity 
  • The BHP Service Event will be held on March 16th. The events will have their separate times but totaled the day lasts from 8am-3pm. Events include: Humane Society, Habitat Restore, campus cleanup, park cleanup, Hospitality House and Soup Kitchen. You will be able to sign-up under Projects on Moodle. Sarah Yoder and Jessica Connors will be coming to our next meeting on March 13th to talk about this event.
