Meeting Minutes
March 13, 2013
I. Relay for Life:
            A. Krispy Kreme: Donut sales ($5 a box, $1 a piece)
                        1. Sold: Wed-Thurs 10:00 AM -4:00 PM
                        2. Signups available

            B. T-shirts:
                        1. Money due by 5:00 PM tomorrow in the Honor’s Office
                        2. Teal and Red available
                        3. $10.00 a shirt
II. Community Service:
            A. BHP community service: Sarah Yoder
                        1. Signup for Saturday
                        2. Smaller groups
                        3. Email: syoder3@uncc.edu
                        4. Meet: Project leader will contact you with more information
III. Registration:
            A. Questions:
                        1. When? March 25 at 9:00 A.M.
                        2. What to do if it does not work right away? BE PATIENT. Count to 10 and refresh!
                        3. Bring laptops to class and ask professors if you can step out to register if you have                                               class
                        4. HAVE BACKUPS: be prepared for full classes
                        5. Special permits needed if signing up for two or more 3700 courses (email Connie                                                 Rothwell at crothwll@uncc.edu)
                        6. New professors
                        7. Course descriptions available at honors.uncc.edu
                        8. Make sure you take honors sections when needed (sign up to meet up with advisors if                                          you are not sure)
            B. Students to call Alumni
                        1. Thursday: 11:00-3:00
                        2. Monday  11:00-12:30
            C. Senior Portfolio/Honors Thesis
                        1. Two-parts:
·         3790-001: write proposal
·         3791: write portfolio/present
·         Departmental honors requirements can replace these courses and you can                                                     graduate with dual honors
·         Information available under “Graduating with Honors”  section on UHP website
                        2. Keep pictures, papers, events, etc.

IV. Fashion Show:
            A. Next Friday!
            B. Gone Ape, Petal, JT Posh, and Alta-Cation
           
            C. Entertainment: The Cameron Floyd Band, Brian Barrows, Egypt Baskett
            D. Tickets are $5

VI. Relay for Life:
            A. Sign up! 6:00 PM-6:00 AM, volunteer to walk, work at the booth (sign-up sheets available)
            B. Theme: Reality TV
            C. Our booth: Breakfast for Dinner (pancakes, bacon, eggs, yummm)
            D. Candy Sale:
            E. We’ve raised over $2000 so far! Keep it up you guys.
            F. Supplies: waffle irons, griddles, spatulas, extension cords, bugspray, etc.
            G. Google docs will be available for all sign-ups
            H. Prospector Takeover! – We will be asking people for spare change
            I. Invite your friends!

VI. Black and White Affair: proceeds go towards Relay for Life
            A. When: April 6 7:30-11:30
            B. Where: Alumni Center
            C. Tickets:
                        1. Join Relay team by Friday at 5:00: $5 tickets (guest tickets, too!)
                        2. Not on Relay Team: $8 tickets
                        3. At the door: $10 tickets

VII. Next Meeting: Tuesday April 9th, Cone 210
            A. President Elect: 2 term position, community service events, becomes president)
            B. Treasurer: special event planning (Honor’s Gala, Black and White Affair, UHP trips, etc)
            C. Secretary: meeting minutes, monthly newsletter
            D. Historian: take pictures, slideshow at Spring Banquet and other events
            E. Nominations at next meeting (Make sure the person agrees to be nominated before you                            nominate them)

VIII. Spring Banquet: April 30th  (last day of class)
