Weekly Update September 16, 2013

Hello Everyone! I hope you’ve been enjoying the absolutely gorgeous weather this weekend!

Today is the day! We have our “Wine to Water” discussion night tonight 5-7:30pm in Cone 210, which is on the south-side of Cone down the stairs across from McKnight hall.  If you don’t know how to get there ask an upperclassmen to help you because it can be kind of confusing. So excited to see everyone tonight! Thanks to all the people who volunteered to be table leaders.

Our next community service opportunity is the Alzheimer’s Walk on September 28! In order to register go to this link (http://act.alz.org/site/TR?pg=team&fr_id=3522&team_id=179849.)

The Color Run is being held on October 19^th. You have the opportunity to volunteer at this fun event! Volunteers will most likely be throwing the colored powder. Plus, you also get a free T-shirt for volunteering! I think that’s a pretty sweet deal! The Black Mountain Trip is still planned for October 25^th-27^th. The cost is $50 and the money is due by Wednesday, September 25^th. This will be a great weekend to get away, build community with your UHP friends, and have some awesome experiences!

The 1^st ever 49er Dance Marathon at Charlotte is also coming up November 15-16. All proceeds from the Dance marathon will go to the Levine Children’s hospital. This event will be campus wide, and you wouldn’t want to miss out on the fun! Also, thinking ahead, Relay for Life will be in the spring semester; however, you can register now! If you go ahead and register for the team before September 30^th, it is half off! Right now it is only $5 to register instead of $10! Also, your registration money goes directly towards the funds raised by the Honor’s College team!
